(from the VARK LS page

2. Look at the strategies suggested for your learning style. Do you really think you could learn better using those strategies? Do you use any of the strategies recommended for your learning style?

Metropolis Magazine

3.You are a famous architect / urban planner and you have been asked to create a personal page for an online magazine :-)

  • Go to this wiki.
  • Click on your name on the navigation bar
  • Click on "edit this page"
  • Write a title for your page
  • Click on "preview" if you want to see how the title looks
  • Click on "save" when you are satisfied.

4. Now you are going to create a logo for your page!

You can create a logo like the one on this page at: http://www.says-it.com/seal/index.php . Follow the instructions given. Don´t be afraid to experiment! When you like your logo, you will download it to the computer, and then upload it to your wiki: when you are on the "edit" mode on your wiki page, you will see a picture icon, click on it and you will see the box to look for the image on the computer. Upload it and then put the cursor where you want the logo to be located, and click on the image you uploaded.

If you feel like designing your own logo, you can use Power Point, and then make a screenshot using the Print/screen key on the computer key board. Then, open Paint and paste your design, save it as Gif or JPG and follow the instructions given above to upload the image to your wiki page :-) Important: You need to sign up to Wikispaces to be able to upload documents.

5. Be ready to write an introduction for your page (say who you are and the purpose of the page you are creating and maybe the concept of your logo). Check your spelling, grammar and syntax, and then record it at:

we will upload it to your page next class !

6. Have you learned new words today? I am sure you have! Well, we will be creating our own class glossary in Moodle. Follow the instructions given there.

7. Write a comment on one of your classmate´s wiki page (use the discussion tab is at the top of the page).

Note: If you are not able to complete all the tasks today, you can finish them at home for next class, and don`t forget, if you have questions, contact me!
